AmCham Panamá Successfully Holds the 2026 Train Ride

By Comunicaciones AmCham

On Saturday, April 11, AmCham Panamá held its traditional Train Ride, an activity that brought together more than 250 attendees among members and their families, in a day of enjoyable company and interesting historical information.

The outing included the Panama Railway route, starting on the Pacific coast and running to the Atlantic coast, arriving in the city of Colón. In addition to its colorful history, the railway follows a scenic route across the Isthmus of Panama; the line runs alongside the Panama Canal, passing through lush tropical rainforest, traveling beside the Canal locks, through the historic Culebra Cut and over narrow causeways on Gatún Lake. It provides an essential connection along one of the least traveled but perhaps most appealing tourist corridors in the world.

On arriving in Colón, attendees were taken by tour buses to the Agua Clara visitor center on the Atlantic side. This center is known for its striking panoramic view, which contrasts two distinctive settings: on one side, the famous Gatún Lake, where cargo ships and other vessels transit this magnificent work of modern engineering, and the view toward the expansion works.

We thank everyone who joined us on this outing and was able to enjoy a day of camaraderie with their colleagues and families.
