AmCham Panamá held the official launch of the School Leadership Program of the San Miguelito Education Region, 2026 edition, with the participation of principals and deputy principals of schools in the district of San Miguelito taking part in the program, as well as the attendance of Magister Aymeth Espinosa, Regional Director of Education of San Miguelito, to whom we extend special thanks for always welcoming this program so positively, and of supervisors from the Regional Directorate.
This program is AmCham Panamá’s flagship education and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, and its purpose is to strengthen the leadership skills of school administrators through a comprehensive training model that contributes to the continuous improvement of educational quality. Since it began, the program has been run in partnership with the San Miguelito Regional Directorate of Education of MEDUCA and with the pro bono support of AmCham member companies.
Over more than 15 years, the program has reached more than 80 principals and deputy principals, 51 schools in the district of San Miguelito and more than 43,200 students, with the participation of more than 114 member companies that have actively supported it through workshops, training, mentoring and guided visits.
For the 2026 edition, the program will benefit 20 schools in the district of San Miguelito, training 20 administrators in leadership skills and more than 20 lead teachers, with the backing of our member companies. The schedule provides for more than 21 hours of training and more than 80 mentoring sessions over the course of the year.
The School Leadership Program of San Miguelito will be delivered through three main components. The first comprises training sessions and guided visits, with six sessions designed on the basis of consultations with administrators and supervisors of the San Miguelito Regional Directorate and delivered by AmCham member companies. The second component consists of in-person and virtual mentoring, in which each administrator will be accompanied by a volunteer business mentor in carrying out a pedagogical project during the 2026 school year.
Through this program, AmCham Panamá reaffirms its commitment to education, leadership development and public-private collaboration as fundamental pillars of the country’s sustainable progress. The Chamber once again thanks its member companies and strategic allies that will continue to support this new edition.
