By Comunicaciones AmCham

As part of its commitment to strengthening the quality of education and developing school leaders, AmCham Panamá, in partnership with Glasswing Panamá and thanks to the support of member companies, held a new training session of the San Miguelito School Leadership Program 2026, benefiting administrators, teachers, and supervisors from public schools in the region.

The session brought together 37 participants from 20 schools, who had the opportunity to strengthen skills that are essential to educational leadership through two specialized training sessions.

The first session, titled “Clear and Effective Communication”, was led by David Natera, Rector of Instituto Técnico Superior By TAC, a specialist in teaching systems, Vice Chair of the AmCham Panamá Education Committee, and a mentor in the San Miguelito School Leadership Program.

During the training, participants strengthened fundamental skills for improving communication with their work teams, school communities, and stakeholders. Through practical exercises, group activities, and time for reflection, the session covered topics such as the use of personal communication tools, the purposes of communication, the main obstacles that affect the effective delivery of messages, and strategies for handling objections. Practical methodologies were also presented, such as the CAR model (Context, Action, and Results) and the Inverted Pyramid, providing applicable tools for structuring clear messages, achieving greater impact, and promoting more effective communication within school environments.

Participants highlighted the clarity of the content and the usefulness of the tools shared, underscoring the importance of effective communication in strengthening leadership and working relationships in educational institutions.

The second session, titled “Time Organization and Task Prioritization”, was facilitated by Martha Bonilla Rivas, Organizational Development Manager at Petróleos Delta, with more than 20 years of experience in human talent management in sectors such as retail, financial services, hospitality, logistics, and hydrocarbons, as well as a mentor and facilitator of leadership and professional development programs.

During the session, attendees examined the importance of strategically managing their time and resources in order to lead more effectively. The session included self-assessment exercises, reflection on work habits, and tools for identifying the main factors that affect productivity and professional performance. Topics covered included the difference between urgent and important activities, managing energy and attention, decision-making, and the importance of planning, delegating, and setting priorities. Practical tools were also presented, such as the Eisenhower Matrix and the Personal Traffic Light, resources designed to optimize individual organization and improve the management of responsibilities.

Satisfaction results reflected a highly positive assessment from participants, who agreed that the knowledge they gained will contribute significantly to their professional and personal performance.

These sessions are part of AmCham Panamá’s San Miguelito School Leadership Program, an initiative that seeks to strengthen the leadership, management, and human development capabilities of administrative and teaching teams, promoting school environments that are more effective, collaborative, and oriented toward continuous improvement. AmCham Panamá thanks once again all of the companies that make this program possible.
